Vista by LLumar Luminance Safety V28 SR PS8 is a medium-dark architectural window film developed for solar performance combined with heavy-duty polyester designed to help hold broken glass together after impact. With 27% visible light transmission on single-pane, 1/8-inch clear glass, it provides a deliberate balance between daylight and solar control. Its blue-gray 8-mil safety appearance helps designers, owners, and facility teams coordinate the glass with the surrounding architecture. The product is well suited to homes and commercial properties where glass-breakage risk and solar control both matter, especially when untreated windows create comfort, glare, fading, or energy-management concerns.
Heat, Glare, and Daylight Performance
Under the manufacturer’s stated NFRC-based test conditions, Luminance Safety V28 SR PS8 rejects 65% of total solar energy and reduces summer solar heat gain by 59%. This can help moderate hot spots near windows and may reduce cooling demand during sunny weather. The film also provides 70% glare reduction, which can improve comfort around televisions, computers, displays, work surfaces, and customer areas. Daytime privacy changes with light levels, film shade, glass type, and viewing angles, so installers cannot guarantee it. Window film does not provide nighttime privacy. When indoor lights are brighter than the outside, occupants need blinds, shades, or curtains. The heavy-duty polyester and adhesive system help hold glass fragments together during impacts.
