SOLYX Whiteout: Purpose and Appearance

SOLYX Whiteout is an opaque white film that blocks the view completely while still reading as bright glass from both sides. Manufacturer code SXWF-WO. 2 mil polyester, clear pressure-sensitive adhesive, silicone-coated liner. Interior or exterior rated.

Privacy, Day and Night

This is one of the few films that is private after dark as well as during the day. Most window film relies on the outside being brighter than the inside. It stops working the moment you turn the lights on. This one is opaque. It transmits 2% of visible light, so nobody sees in at any hour. No blinds or curtains are needed to achieve it. The trade is obvious: you cannot see out either. It suits glass where the view was never the point. A bathroom, a stairwell, a partition, a storefront being fitted out. Rather than a window someone sits by.

Published Performance

The manufacturer publishes 2% visible light transmission, 15% exterior visible reflectance, 100% of ultraviolet blocked, 46% of total solar energy rejected, 85% glare reduction. Figures are comparative and measured on the manufacturer’s stated test glazing, so actual results vary with the glass they are applied to.

Film is cut and fitted to the glass it goes on, so every job is quoted after someone has seen it. There is no cart here on purpose.

SOLYX publishes this warranty for commercial applications; residential coverage is being confirmed with SOLYX. Life expectancy on exterior glass is 3 to 5 years, which is not the warranty period.
