SOLYX Reeded Glass

SOLYX Reeded Glass is a polyester film carrying a half-inch reeded pattern along the length of the roll, for the fluted-glass look without replacing the glazing. It transmits 61% of visible light and blocks 43% of ultraviolet.
Special Order. $750 minimum for the part of the project using this film. Please allow approximately 2 to 3 weeks for materials to arrive. Subject to availability.
SOLYX Reeded Glass: Purpose and Appearance
SOLYX Reeded Glass is a polyester film carrying a half-inch reeded pattern along the length of the roll, for the fluted-glass look without replacing the glazing. Manufacturer code SX-1254-UG. 2 mil polyester, clear pressure-sensitive adhesive, silicone-coated liner. Interior glass, single or double pane, and a popular pick for shower enclosures, office partitions, and front door sidelights.
Privacy, Day and Night
This film gives partial privacy: its reeded pattern breaks up views in daylight and after dark, while keeping the room bright at 61% visible light transmission. Privacy varies with the lighting and distance from the glass; shapes and silhouettes stay visible, especially close to the pane. We recommend a sample under your actual lighting conditions.
Published Performance
The manufacturer publishes 61% visible light transmission, 43% of ultraviolet blocked. Figures are comparative and measured on the manufacturer’s stated test glazing, so actual results vary with the glass they are applied to.

Class A to ASTM E84 / NFPA 101. Zero VOC content to EPA method 24.

Film is cut and fitted to the glass it goes on, so every job is quoted after someone has seen it. There is no cart here on purpose.
- Tell us the rooms. Send the glass you want treated and rough measurements, or just call and describe the problem.
- We visit and measure. We check the glass for compatibility and hold samples against your own window in your own light.
- You get a fixed price. Supplied and installed, no surprises on the day.
- We install and clean up. Then the manufacturer warranty and our labor warranty both start.
