LLumar Ceramic 55 SR PS
LLumar Ceramic 55 SR PS preserves abundant natural light while providing a neutral appearance, 41% total solar energy rejection, and more than 98% ultraviolet protection.
Light-Filled Rooms With Added Solar Protection
LLumar Ceramic 55 SR PS is designed for properties where keeping generous natural light is a priority. With 57% visible light transmission on 1/8-inch clear glass, the film has a lighter appearance than Ceramic 35 or Ceramic 45 while still delivering useful solar-control benefits. Its neutral color and low reflectivity help maintain the original character of the windows, making it attractive for residences, storefronts, professional offices, and architectural spaces where appearance matters.
Comfort Without an Overly Dark Tint
Ceramic 55 rejects 41% of total solar energy and reduces summer solar heat gain by 31% under LLumar’s stated test conditions. This performance can help reduce uncomfortable warmth near sun-exposed glass while retaining a bright, open interior. The film also reduces glare by 37%, softening harsh daylight that can affect screens and visual comfort without substantially dimming the room. It is especially appropriate for clients who want a measured improvement in comfort rather than the stronger shading effect of a darker film.
UV Protection for Interior Finishes
The film blocks more than 98% of ultraviolet rays in the tested 300-380 nm wavelength range. This helps address a major contributor to premature fading and sun-related deterioration of furniture, flooring, fabrics, artwork, and merchandise. Because fading is also influenced by visible light, heat, humidity, and the composition of each material, no film can guarantee that fading will stop. Ceramic 55 should be viewed as one part of a practical preservation strategy.
Subtle Reflectivity and Ceramic Durability
Ceramic 55 measures approximately 9% exterior visible reflectance and 11% interior visible reflectance. This restrained appearance minimizes the mirror effect associated with reflective films and can improve the quality of outward views from inside, particularly after dark. The film also provides 46% infrared energy rejection and 61% selective infrared rejection according to the manufacturer’s measurement methods. Its corrosion-resistant ceramic construction makes the product a useful option for coastal locations exposed to salt deposits and sea air. Although it supports clearer nighttime views, it does not create nighttime privacy; blinds, shades, or curtains remain necessary when privacy is required.
Installed for the Specific Glazing System
LLumar Ceramic 55 SR PS is best for customers who value natural light, a neutral exterior, UV protection, and moderate heat and glare control. It can be especially appealing in showcase rooms and shared spaces where occupants want a bright atmosphere throughout the day. Film selection must also account for glass type, pane configuration, coatings, orientation, shading, and the condition of the glazing system. OOVO Window Films can evaluate these factors and provide a professional recommendation and installation. To discuss a residential or commercial application, request an assessment.
